From SCAD Message System

Every 10 years, each regionally accredited institution in the United States must go through a process of reaffirmation of accreditation. A number of SCAD colleagues have been hard at work preparing the college for the reaffirmation process through SCAD’s regional accreditor, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The process involves both a certification of the college’s compliance with the SACS Principles of Accreditation and the creation of a significant project designed to enhance student learning, called the Quality Enhancement Plan, or QEP.

SCAD is interested in your ideas for a QEP topic focused on new models for collaboration at SCAD. All that’s needed is the title of your topic suggestion and a short description (250 words or so) of what your suggestion is about. Your suggestion will be included with others from across the college for a review and comment process later in the summer. The deadline for submitting suggestions is Thursday, July 31.

You can contribute your ideas by logging on to MySCAD and clicking the QEP Suggestions Form link in the new MySCAD channel “Preparing for SACS 2010” under the My Campus tab. You can also e-mail your suggestions to QEP@scad.edu. In your e-mail, be sure the title of your suggestion indicates the focus for the plan, summarizes its intent and indicates how it deals with collaboration. The description should explain the plan’s primary features and specifically how your idea for a new model of collaboration can enhance student learning.
