The Hub is set to begin the 2008 – 09 school year with an array of upgrades and changes. United Student Forum (USF) has been active in implementing changes ranging from the new ice-cream selection to the new coffee/espresso bar. Utilizing student feedback, USF has addressed the following with the Hub’s Operations Manager, Oscar Alberto:

• The following student-suggested items have been added to the menu: panini sandwiches, bananas, assorted stir-fry dishes, more fish sticks and an entire ice-cream fridge.

• The pizzas are no longer greased with a non-stick spray.

• Weekly menus are now posted throughout the serving lines and registers. Space is available for
student organizations to post announcements.

• New ketchup dispensers are available for one-handed use.

• Napkin holders will be added to the tables to replace the old containers. (Currently the napkins can be found in the serving area.

• The current salad bar island will be replaced with a larger model that has a tray rack for easier accessibility.

• The Hub will be preparing foods that are “theme-based.” Through USF, students can suggest styles of dishes. International cuisine will be infused into the Hub’s daily menu.

• The registers will be using new tabletops to avoid having the cashiers’ backs to the seating area. The registers will also be fully staffed during all peak Hub times.

• There has been a substantial increase in the amount of seating in the hub. The entire floor space is being utilized with the addition of six bar high tables and chairs.

• The bar/TV area has been converted to a coffee/espresso bar and will offer a variety of beverages and snacks. Meal plan equivalency, dining dollars, debit dollars and cash are accepted.

• Positions are available for students to work for Sodexho’s catering division. This opportunity is not work-study.
