March 4

10:10 p.m. — A student reported that her car door had been keyed. The incident either happened on campus or off-property on March 3, as it was noticed on the way in to school on March 4.

March 3

11:25 p.m. — A non-student showed an invalid ID. ID was confiscated and turned over to the dean of students.

Feb. 22

6:50 p.m. — A student passed out in class. The student has a known condition; 911 was not called per her request.

Feb. 17

7:56 a.m. — A student notified Security that a mirror was damaged in the men’s restroom on the third floor of Building A. The mirror appeared to be punched or hit with a blunt object causing damage. Maintenance was notified and a replacement is being ordered.

Feb. 11

7:15 p.m. — A mother visiting her daughter (a student) fell off a stool and hit her head. She refused to have EMS respond and departed the property with her daughter.

Feb. 6

4:35 p.m. — Security was notified that a box with art supplies was stolen from a vehicle. Vehicle was reported to have been parked at either Spring House or the main building during the time in question.

11:27 p.m. — Security was notified that a project that was on display in the fashion area had been damaged.

Feb. 5

6:35 p.m. — The son of a SCAD staff member called saying his father was having health issues in his office. Security responded to his office and found him alert. EMS responded and determined that he needed tests at the hospital. He was transported to Atlanta Medical Center.


Feb. 4

3:33 p.m. — A vehicle entered the front driveway of the main campus, then turned around and exited the property going out the entrance. Students who were walking out the front reported that the occupants of the vehicle had thrown something out the window. It was discovered to be several unused hypodermic needles and two spoons with residue on them. The items were turned over to Midtown Blue along with a copy of video footage.

2 p.m. — A professor reported to Security that a student had passed out in class. 911 and the security supervisor were called. The supervisor arrived on site and assisted with directing EMS and AFD. The student was awake and refused medical treatment.

8 p.m. — Security found graffiti on a mirror in the women’s restroom. The graffiti was done in what appeared to be make-up. Further investigation found several sheets of paper taped to the wall in the 4C events space with the same messages as written on the mirror. It was determined that a student had done a photo shoot in those areas and had forgotten to clean up after she finished shooting her pictures.

Jan. 31

10:44 p.m. — Two people in a vehicle sped past the Spring House security booth without stopping. One person hopped out and ran into the lobby. The driver said he was looking for a restroom and wanted to know how much a room was per night. The second person came back out and both were told that it was private property and not open to the public. They left without further incident.

Jan. 29

9:44 p.m. — Security was called to the Spring House Residence Hall to meet with the RD and on-duty RA. The security supervisor was informed that a resident and his guest had been caught smoking marijuana. The items were collected and taken to the Security Office to be photographed. The Guest was escorted off property.

Jan. 26

12:57 a.m. — A student leaving the DMC building struck the rolling gate in the parking deck. Gate was knocked off track and was repaired later in the morning.

7:50 a.m. — A SCAD staff member’s car door was struck by a student pulling into the adjacent parking space. APD was called to do a private property report.

5 p.m. — One of the cleaning crew was told by management to leave the property. The cleaner refused and Security was called to assist. The cleaning employee still refused to leave the property. Midtown Blue was called for assistance and the cleaner finally departed property without further incident.

5 p.m. — Security was informed that a fixed-blade knife was found in the computer lab by a student. It was turned over to the RD on duty, who turned it over to the security manager. Video will be reviewed to attempt to determine ownership of the weapon.

Jan. 18

2:33 p.m. — The fire alarm at the DMC building sounded. Alarm indicated the dry pipe system in the parking deck. AFD responded and the on-call engineer was notified. A call was placed to the fire systems company to start repairs to the pipe.

Jan. 17

9:18 p.m. — The on-duty Spring House RA noted two males jumping the back fence to enter the residence hall area. Security was called and a search was done. The individuals were not found.

Jan. 16

4:39 p.m. — A Spring House resident requested transport to a medical facility. The on-duty RD was contacted and the student was transported by Security to the local hospital.

Jan. 10

10:50 p.m. — Security was called to a room at Spring House. There was a resident and two others in the room. Security noted that the room had the smell of marijuana smoke and a pipe with some other substances. The visitors were escorted from property. Items were taken to the security manager’s office to be photographed and destroyed.

Jan. 7

10:40 a.m. — The driver of the Waste Management truck reported that a vehicle had attempted to pass by him while he was pulling the dumpster at the main campus. This vehicle grazed his bumper but did not do any damage to the Waste Management truck. He reported that the other vehicle did not stop and would have paint damage along its side.

6:48 p.m. — A student passed out at the main building and hit his head on the floor. EMS was called and responded. Security escorted EMS personnel to the student and the student was evaluated. Student refused to be transported.

Jan. 6

8:05 p.m. — The fire alarm sounded at the Digital Media Center. Indication was a water flow alarm on the dry pipe system. A broken water pipe was found in the loading dock area and the shut off valve closed. AFD responded then departed at 8:25 p.m.

Jan. 4

1:55 p.m. — A student was trapped in an elevator in the ACA Residence Hall. Woodruff Art Center Maintenance was called and an elevator technician arrived to release the student with no incident.

Jan. 2

4:05 p.m. — A male entered the building from the first-floor parking deck area and then came up the escalator to the Command Center level. The male was a homeless person that was attempting to find a warm place to stay. He was informed that he could not stay here and was asked to leave.
