Prestigious industrial designer Matali Crassat will be giving a lecture titled “Hospitality, Empathy, Generosity, Technology” Thursday, May 1 at SCAD-Atlanta. Crasset, a French industrial designer, is a graduate of the Ateliers École Nationale Supérieure de Création Industrielle. Her work centers on the development of new typologies based on modularity, appropriation, flexibility and network. She denies pure shape, conceiving work that is like “a research in movement, made of hypotheses more than of principals.” Her five-year experience in working with Philippe Starck led to being jointly awarded the Grand Prix of Design of the City of Paris in 1997.
