Students victorious in face-off with faculty in outdoor basketball tournament
Last Friday, SCAD students and staff members competed in a scrimmage basketball game on the outside court at Spring House. The game came from an idea that Art Malloy, the dean of students, had. “Art Malloy wanted a basketball game with a faculty and staff team competing against the student team that won the basketball tournament; once we started planning it we decided to open it up to everyone,“ said fourth-year broadcast design and motion graphics student Conroy Williamson. The students came away with a landslide victory of 51 to 25. The players played competitively, but commented on how they were just enjoying the opportunity to play this kind of game. “This was a really great idea because we actually able to play against some of SCAD’s faculty members,” said second-year advertising design student Nathan Lombardi. Lombardi also said that he looks forward to doing it again.
