Here are just a few changes that have taken place at SCAD-Atlanta for this fall:
Technology: 167 computers have been replaced with new ones. There are also five new computer labs
with a total of 97 computers, bringing the number of computers on campus to 542 in 31 labs. Technology
upgrades have also been made to many of the computers on campus.
Academics: There are three new majors available to SCAD-Atlanta students starting this fall: Fashion
Marketing and Management (B.F.A.), Luxury and Fashion Management (M.A., M.F.A) and Television
Producing (B.A.). There will also be three new minors: Art History, Business Management and Entrepreneurship and Conceptual Art for Games.
The Hub: A new coffee bar will open in the Hub,
with an espresso machine and snacks. The Hub will
also feature a larger salad bar with more selections.
Classrooms: Among some of the additions to
classroom space include a new graduate photo studio,
interior design lab and a new fashion classroom.
Spring House: The furniture in the Spring House
study lounge has been replaced.
Ivy Hall: Construction continues on the historic restoration of the Edward C. Peters House, which will
be known as Ivy Hall. SCAD will celebrate the grand opening of Ivy Hall on Friday, Oct. 3. Located in
Midtown at 179 Ponce de Leon Ave., Ivy Hall will be a place for visiting authors and artist presentations, as well as a writing center for students.
