SCAD-Atlanta art history professor Emily Webb will be present a talk on “From the Beginning: Locating Site-Specificity” on Thursday, Oct. 30 at 7 p.m. in Gallery 1600. In this lecture, Professor Webb will define the terms of site-specific art — scale, context, place, then reconstruct its development from 1967-69. She will address three decisive exhibitions — one from each of these years — that contributed to the advance of site-specificity, charting this critical shift in the meaning of place for American art of the late 1960s. Refreshments will be served. This event is part of the Art History/Liberal Arts Lecture Series.
