Netherworld is broken up into two houses of horror, Gargoyle and Dead Salvage. Ghouls and goblins roam the outer corridor of the gates, tormenting pitiful souls. While the haunted houses’ location in a plaza amongst furniture stores may seem odd, any visitor who dares to enter will quickly forget reality.

Accompanied by animatronics, smoke and mirrors, visitors are greeted by the undead, mummies and spiders. There is even a dinosaur-like creature that really appears to be able to swallow you whole. The most anyone can do is either laugh like a maniac or scream your head off. Side note: If you act afraid, the characters will feed off of your fears; laughing becomes your only way to ward off the ghouls.

The fright inside of the Gargoyle section lasts for at least 20 minutes, of which you may become lost, touched and/or claustrophobic. Inside of Dead Salvage, the horror lasts for only 10–15 minutes. Yet, this particular house differs because its theme plays on reality-based fears rather than make believe. Visitors will experience fearful situations including psychopathic doctors and bloody body parts.

Closing your eyes and reminding yourself that Netherworld is not real may help your anxiety, but may also foster in your mind that a monster really is standing right next to you.
