This edition: Cheapskate Truffles for the person with romantic obligations
Let’s face it, you’re a SCAD student. You probably don’t have a full kitchen at your disposal, let alone the time or energy to utilize said tools. A microwave is your best friend, a refrigerator a luxury. Money is sparse, and the time to spend any is sparser still. How about some fare that is neither corrosive to your wallet nor stomach? Something that’s attainable without much effort? That’s the sort of food stuff that a SCAD student can get behind.
So, penny pincher, here’s your recipe:
* 16 oz crunchy, salted peanut butter
* 1/3 cup agave nectar or honey
* 5 tbsp cocoa powder
* 1/3 cup rolled oats
* (Optional) 6 oz. dark chocolate chips
* (Optional) sprinkles, because they make everything better!
* A big ol’ plate
* Refrigeration unit (or balcony in the winter months)
How to make ‘em:
1) Mix everything in a big bowl until well blended
2) Roll tablespoon-sized balls of mixture to desired shape and place on plate.
3) Refrigerate for a few hours and then enjoy. Pairs well with raclette and a crystal chalice brimming with zinfandel (just kidding!) Try it whilst wearing thrift store sweaters with an unsavory mothball aroma, cheapo!
