SCAD Atlanta men’s tennis player and second-year interior design student, David Paull, will be featured on HLN’s “Making It in America.” Paull’s segment will be seen on CNN and CNN’s Headline News.
“Making it in America” is a month-long documentary that takes viewers into the struggles and triumphs of individuals chasing the American Dream. Some episodes are about individuals trying to make it in a rough economy, others are about individuals taking high risks in entrepreneurship.
Paul’s feature is about a midtown family that has been challenged to live waste-free for one month. Paull’s objective was to educate the family on the incalculable impact of composting. Paull’s company, Compost Wheels, will also be featured.
Compost Wheels started as a small group of individuals passionate about finding a way to re-direct organic waste from landfills to be used as a resource in the process of making fertile soil. Paull started the company over the 2012 summer (www.compostwheels.com).
Paull said, “I am at SCAD learning how to visually communicate my ideas and design solutions for some of the most pressing issues of our time. My future in design will be to create spaces and structures that enable us to grow food within our cities in order to support the growing population of our urban homes. We are at an exciting time in our world and I plan to continue to create projects that promote a whole and just world for all.”
Paull’s episode airdate for “Making It in America” will be either in Nov. or Dec. of 2012.
