Jobs are few and bills are piling up. The days are getting shorter and colder. Though the holidays approach, frustration fills the air instead of cheer. How does a young couple’s love survive in a big mean-spirited city? What Christmas gifts will they dare give each other when they can’t even afford rent? The Gits of the Magi, a musical based on O. Henry’s classic, tells the tale of Jim and Della’s holiday dilemma through song and scene at downtown Atlanta’s Theatrical Outfit. The musical features an outstanding cast of five singers and one heck of a keyboardist. The laughs are plentiful, the lessons both touching and timeless. Shows are playing now through Dec. 23rd.
