The SCAD Atlanta counseling department is offering a new group during the winter quarter for those students who struggle with getting to know people, making friends and shyness around strangers.
Anxiety in social situations can affect your body, thinking and behavior. Do you shake or sweat in public? Do you think everyone is staring at you? Do you avoid certain places or leave early because you feel awkward or don’t know anyone? Although being around others can be unpleasant at times, you don’t have to live in fear or isolation.
Meet with other students who are shy or experience anxiety in social situations. The environment will be a supportive and understanding place to practice new skills and overcome challenges. Join counseling interns and co-facilitators, Bradford Coleman and Kendra Lewis for “Stepping Out.”
Stepping Out
Fridays, 2 – 3 p.m.
