On Feb. 14-16, SCAD will host aTVfest 2013. The three-day event will feature professionals from all fields of the television industry engaging in panels, lectures, workshops, screenings, as well as award presentations that will occur each day of the event. The presentations and premieres will be followed by receptions for networking and development opportunities.
The event will be held at the main campus, and the Digital Media Center, and will be followed with night time events at Opera nightclub on Crescent Av. Tickets are currently available to students and the public. The general public can click here to purchase passes, or can call the Savannah Box Office at 404-253-2740. Student tickets are available in the Hub. Tickets for the daytime events are free and the evening event tickets are $5 with a SCAD ID.
Parking is free at 1600 Peachtree St. NW., the main campus, for all who attend the event. Street parking and garage parking are also available at all of the event locations. A shuttle escort will provide transportation to the different locations. The shuttles will run from 10:30 a.m. until 10 p.m.
A couple of the panels available on Thursday, Feb. 14, including, “‘BONES’: Script to Screen with Executive Producer Stephen Nathan” and “Building the Brand: HGTV and DIY.” From the creator of “True Blood,” “Banshee” will be presented as the special screening night event at Opera. Different screenings which will be available to view on Friday, Feb. 15, are “Fall to Grace,” which will be followed by a Q-and-A with filmmaker Alexandra Pelosi, “Love Marilyn,” and a screening of “Bones” at Opera. On Saturday, Feb. 16, Lifetime’s 2012 version of “Steel Magnolias” will be shown, and followed by a Q-and-A with special guest, Phylicia Rashad. Aside from those specific events, there are many other screenings, panels, and workshops. The full event schedule can be found here.
