The Green Market, a local farmers market serving Midtown’s population with fresh, clean local food every Saturday. Voted one of the top five farmer’s markets in Atlanta by Access Atlanta, Green Market encourages sustainable communities in the most basic way – by providing shoppers with direct access to local farmers and merchants. It’s as simple as that.

7th Annual Atlanta Arts Festival
Held in Piedmont Park, Atlanta Arts Festival is a fine arts event taking place September 14-15, 2013. Attendees will find unique artwork to complete their home décor, discover one-of-a-kind jewelry to accentuate their individual style or simply fill their weekend with free fun and enriching entertainment.

Welcome Social
Come hang out, meet other students, and relax! Join us at the promenade at ACA House as we enjoy free food, fun music, and have a great time! SCAD Atlanta Radio will provide the tunes for this event. Athletics Pep Rally with Welcome Back Raffle
Get into the School Spirit! Come out, meet and greet your nationally acclaimed SCAD Atlanta Bees. The players and coaches from Cross Country, Golf, and Tennis will be on hand to greet you and answer any questions you may have about Athletics. This is a great opportunity to hang out with Art the Bee and learn more about SCAD Atlanta Athletics. CS3 SCOOPS: Ice Cream Social
Counseling and Student Support Services (CS3) is holding an ice cream social! Come meet the CS3 team, learn more about the programs and services we offer, and meet SCAD Atlanta’s Student Council of Peer Educators (SCOPE) while enjoying ice cream and delicious toppings. During the event we will be also collecting canned goods. Each donated item will get you a raffle ticket and a chance to win an awesome prize!

College 411: Survival
This informative and interactive event series will give you a glimpse of the information that will be presented in the workshop. Divided into four sections and offered on October 25 from 11 a.m. – 1p.m., participants of this workshop will learn skills in time management, how to benefit from an art critique, study skills, and how to resolve interpersonal conflicts. Stop by our table to pick up valuable information, participate in a range of fun activities, and win a few prizes from SCOPE and CS3. You will leave empowered and ready for the amazing workshop on Oct. 25!

Driving Range Outing
Join us for a relaxing time at the driving range. As you perfect your swing, meet and greet with the conference golf coach of the year, Wyatt Graff, and the nationally ranked SCAD Atlanta golf team. SCAD Athletics and the Office of Residence Life and Housing will be sponsoring free transportation and participation for this event. Volunteer Day at Lifeline Animal Shelter

Music Midtown
Midtown’s annual music festival returns Friday, September 20 and Saturday, September 21 to Piedmont Park and features more than 30 artists over two days. Friday’s lineup will feature Cake, Drivin N’ Cryin, Jane’s Addiction, Journey, North Mississippi Allstars, Phoenix, The Mowgli’s and 2 Chainz. Purchase your tickets for Friday’s show in the Hub from Student Activities Council (SAC) for the discounted price of $20 each. If we catch you at Music Midtown sporting your SCAD swag, you just may win a prize, courtesy of SAC. Avoid parking issues and take the SCAD Shuttle! The SCAD shuttle will be running to Piedmont park on its regular Friday schedule.

SCAD Atlanta ISSO sponsors transportation to JapanFest
One of the largest Japanese festivals in the country, JapanFest is an annual celebration of Japanese culture designed to promote understanding between Japanese individuals and Americans in the Southeast. SCAD ISSO will be sponsoring free transportation to the festival to any current student, faculty or staff. The $8 admission charge to the festival is the responsibility of the participant. The shuttle will depart from in front of the SCAD bookstore at 9:45 a.m. and return close to 3 p.m. To sign up, email Peter May, pmay@scad.edu. S.A.F.E. Training
S.A.F.E (Self-Defense Awareness and Familiarization Exchange Training) is an unparalleled 2-hour educational awareness, crime-victim prevention program – encompassing Strategies, Techniques, Options, and Prevention – that provides women with information that may reduce their risk of exposure to violence and introduces them to the physical aspects of self-defense.
