The collaboration of fashion and technology are two medias that seem to never quite find their footing. From the failed will.i.am Puls smartwatch and old school hoodies with earbuds to the Apple Watch, techies and fashionistas are left wondering whether Silicon Valley can come up with a piece of technology that fashion-forward consumers would want to wear. Wondering the same question myself, I stumbled upon an Indiegogo campaign for a stylish necklace designed by tech brand Tinsel, who creates technology with the needs of women in mind. The product, The Dipper Audio Necklace, is a fashionable piece of jewelry that doubles as a carrying case for a hideaway pair of matching earbuds. A key selling point for most is never having to search for tangled headphones in your bag or pocket. The necklace comes with a standard audio jack to plug into your phone or other devices.
The only downside to this product would be wearing the necklace each time you want to use your headphones but with this classic triangle shape and a gold or silver finish to choose from, I doubt you won’t want to wear this beauty everyday. Their Indigogo campaign ends Nov. 9 if you want to be one of the first few to get their hands on the Dipper Audio Necklace at a discounted price. After that date, the full retail price will be $199 and will go on sale after the first batch of necklaces are shipped in April 2016. Don’t miss out on your chance to have a fashionable piece of tech, grab your necklace before the campaign ends!
