By Sharita Gilmore, contributor
With his guitar in tow, Marc Broussard will showcase his Southern charm, down-to-earth personality and soulful lyrics in the heart of Atlanta on Saturday, Feb. 13 at 8 p.m.
Despite being born in Carencro, La., the artist’s unique blend of funk, blues, soul, R&B, rock, pop and country has helped him acquire a fan base that crosses genres. Since 2004, Broussard has released five studio albums, one live album and three EPs. He’s even opened shows for Luke Bryan and Kelly Clarkson, but his performance at SCADshow is sure to be more intimate.
Taking place the day before Valentine’s Day, the show is expected to feature some of the more popular ballads from “A Life Worth Living,” Broussard’s latest album. Perfect for a Saturday night, songs like “Edge of Heaven,” “Shine” and “The Beauty of Who You Are” showcase the artist’s raspy voice and heartfelt lyrics. Whether you love a good blend of music, are a native of Louisiana or are simply looking for a soulful night out on the town, Broussard’s performance is sure to sweeten your weekend.
Tickets are $20 for the public and $15 for students. Parking is available next to SCADshow for $7. Be sure to check out the event page for more information and visit YouTube to see the vast range of Broussard’s musicianship.
