“How to Get Away with Murder” is yet another one of Shonda Rhimes’ hit ABC shows. On Saturday, Feb. 6 at 8:30 p.m. at SCADshow, this year’s aTVFest gave attendees a chance to see an advanced screening of the midseason premiere before it aired on television. The premiere episode picked back up with — warning: spoilers past this point — the aftermath of Annalise Keating (Viola Davis) being shot by Wes (Alfred Enoch) and further delved into flashbacks of Annalise’s past, giving us a glimpse into how she knew Wes.

The highly anticipated screening was followed by a panel discussion with actors Jack Falahee, Charlie Weber, Liza Weil and the producer, writer and creator of the show, Pete Nowalk. During the panel, Nowalk discussed his professional relationships with the cast members and how their suggestions sometime affect how the story progresses or which characters are in what scenes together. Nowalk was also very candid about his initial fears of Shonda Rhimes making him the main producer of the show and giving him free rein.

Once the moderator allowed for questions from the audience Weber and Weil were asked about some of the landmark roles that started their careers. For Weber it was Ben from “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and for Weil it was playing Paris Geller on “Gilmore Girls.” Both of them shared the same sentiment of being so young and inexperienced compared to now, where they have since matured in their careers as actors.

For those that missed the screening, you can watch the newest episodes of “How to Get Away with Murder” Thursday nights on ABC at 10 p.m.
