On Monday, May 2 at 7 p.m., writer, television radio show host and comedian Faith Salie will sign books of her latest essay collection, “Approval Junkie: Adventures in Caring Too Much” at SCADshow. The collection delves into how humans have an intense craving to please others so intently. To explore this, Salie writes about a female protagonist who the reader will follow throughout a never ending journey of seeking the approval and confirmation of those around her.
Salies impressive resume includes Emmy Award winning work as a commentator on “CBS News Sunday Morning.” She was also featured as a panelist on “Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me!” for NPR. Her other commentator topics includes popular culture and politics. This has granted her interviews with Anderson Cooper and Oprah Winfrey.
SCAD students and the public will be allowed to attend this event. SCAD card holders will be able to attend free of charge.
Admission for the public will be $29 in addition to a $2.44 fee, which includes one individual ticket and one signed book. A ‘plus one’ ticket priced at $39 with a $2.94 fee, includes admittance for two people and one signed book.
