On Thursday, May 12 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Trois Gallery in the ACA library, there will be a reception for the ‘Songs From the Invisible Choir’ exhibition by M.F.A. photography SCAD student Nicole LeCorgne.

The exhibition will be open through Thursday, May 19. It will include large-scale digital prints, black glass ambrotypes, platinum/palladium prints and a sculptural installation confronting the inevitability of death and the artist’s encounters with her own mortality.

The works in this exhibition are inspired by a poem by Georgia Eliot “O May I Join the Choir Invisible.” Each piece in the exhibition relates back to a song from experiences that are now past, but ever-present.

Some songs are personal and others have messages most everyone can relate to. Others draw from the artists more personal experiences, but all of them aim to speak to a universal experience within everyone. The overall premise is that everyone can be connected to the beauty of life if they confront their own mortality.

The gallery will be open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public.
