Artist statement:
“I like portraiture, but I like it when it’s more conceptual. This image was part of my series House Wife, black and white self portraits inspired by Cindy Sherman. The series was also influenced by my personal life, and spiritual beliefs about gender roles from the biblical verse 1 Peter 3:1… Likewise, wives, be subject to your own husbands, so that even if some do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives… ”
