Midterms draining you? Here are the five best coffee shops to refuel
by Tanya Villafuerte Santiago
If there is something nearly all SCAD students rely on during midterms, it’s coffee. Plus, with fall styles finding their way into our wardrobe and the temperature dropping, this week we decided to find out the five best places to enjoy a good coffee in Atlanta.
Brash
Located on Howell Mill Rd., this repurposed shipping container offers the best iced latte near SCAD, with complimentary parking and various snacks to go.
8ARM
This is one of the best places to find a good coffee accompanied by equally good baked goods. We recommend trying a fruit tart with a cappuccino or an espresso no matter the hour you are there.
Aurora Coffee
Located in the popular area of Little Five Points, this indie coffee shop welcomes you with a display of artwork from local artists and offers a worldwide variety of coffee blends.
Golden Drops Café
A Latin American café that claims to have one of the most powerful Cubanos ever and extremely creative foam art. Not only is the coffee excellent in this place, but the baked goods and Latin American traditional cuisine is a must when stopping by. The Mint mocha made our day with some exquisite empanadas on the side.
Chrome Yellow Trading Co.
Located in Edgewood and with ample parking nearby, this creative spot is a nice place to hold work or study meetings while enjoying a tasty cappuccino. They offer free wi-fi and a productive atmosphere to focus. Also, it has a space dedicated to shop different kinds of cool merchandise.
For our non-coffee readers, we recommend Tea House Formosa, located on Buford Highway. It’s becoming popular because of their Taiwanese classics and East Asian street fare. They serve hot teas, bubble teas, and Instagram-worthy treats. The Matcha latte is pretty fantastic and the bubble teas have a special spark.
