Sometimes forgotten, the beautiful Ivy Hall sits not too far from SCAD’s 1600 Peachtree street building. Ivy Hall is unlike any other SCAD Atlanta facility. Instead of being stocked with the latest cameras or smart boards, it’s full of countryside charm. The warm colored building greets you with its quaintness and cobblestone walkways.
It’s hard to believe that in such a busy city like Atlanta, there’s a creative oasis like Ivy Hall.
I remember walking through the wooden house, up the groaning staircase to sit around a long regal dining room table. I felt as if I had been placed in a Jane Austen novel. The decor includes peacocks, dogs with hats and every book we all hope to read before we die. Its very aesthetic sparks creativity and encourages students to take a step back and enjoy the creative process.
