Motion, to me, means moving something. Usually, when we think of photography our minds go to still moments. Capturing a moment in time and in place.
I developed the motion series with the hypothesis of bringing life to “still photography.” The models were directed to just let go and go with the flow. I wanted to capture that motion to show how it can impact the shot. The results were breathtaking. It’s amazing how a little movement can go a long way in photography.
As a photographer, I’m always looking to improve and I recommend trying this kind of concept. Just the thought of portraying movement and motion was intimidating, but when I got out of my shell and pushed my creative boundaries I achieved something that I never thought possible.
