KUSA celebrates student work with ‘Perspectives of Art’ exhibition
On May 11 from 8:30 p.m.-12 a.m. the Korean Undergraduate Student Association will be hosting an art exhibition titled, “Perspectives of Art.” Located at 200 Bennett St., the event is dedicated to the promotion of student work. The show will feature a minimum of 25 selected works of varying mediums, from illustration to digital media. “Perspectives of Art” is split into two sections: classic gallery showing and musical affair. At 10:30 p.m. the gallery will turn into a concert with rapper Gu and SCAD graduate Hye yeon Kim singing.
Kanglim Kim, president of KUSA, organized the event in hopes to, “gather people from different areas of art and from different cultures to gather around, socialize, and communicate through their choice of art.”
Kim discussed the reasoning behind creating the exhibition, “KUSA is a club made to help Korean students to adjust to international life. We are focusing on making opportunities for Korean students to engage with other students in terms of their artwork. Student works are hard to be put on an exhibition, and for international students who don’t have any connections here in the United States, it’s almost impossible for us to display our artworks,” Kim said. “So, KUSA decided to open our own exhibition so anyone could display their works and communicate with others through their artwork. In this gallery event, we have students not only from Korea, but all over the world to show their artwork and share their message with each other.”
