This Friday on Sept. 21, in rooms 256 and 257 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., SCAD’s clubs, student media and student organizations will come together at this year’s Student Involvement Fair. New students at the Atlanta campus are welcome to come and explore the opportunities in being apart of extracurricular organizations. For those who wish get more involved in the school community at SCAD, this is the perfect opportunity.
By coming to this fall quarter’s Student Involvement Fair, you will have the chance to not only meet peers who share your interest, but also have the chance to meet upperclassmen who have dedicated their time to extracurricular activities while balancing their studies.
Among the clubs, student media and student organizations to consider include: UNI-Intercultural Club of SCAD, SCAD Indian Student Association, The Connector, SCAD Atlanta Animation Society (SAAS), SCAD Atlanta Illustration Club, SCAD Atlanta Radio, SCAD Advertising, SCAN Magazine, and more. This event will give you the chance to sign up for any of the groups you’re interested in. Through these extracurricular activities, you can find out more about yourself, your classmates and the school you attend.
Don’t be afraid of signing up for clubs that are not related to your major. This can also be a way to figure out, if you have not yet, what your intended major will be — or if you would like to find a minor. Most of the clubs offered at SCAD tend to relate to the school’s curriculum opportunities.
This event, as well as the existence of so many student clubs, is SCAD’s way of showing how much influence a student can have in directing campus activities. Becoming a part of clubs, student media and student organizations you’ll be introduced to this Friday will elevate your first year experience here at SCAD.
