Students read their published works at Ivy Hall’s fall reading
Ivy Hall Review, the literary journal of SCAD Atlanta, hosted its fall reading that featured student works that were published over the past few months.
The readers were Marian Hill, Rachita Vasandani, Caitlin Havens (for Tyler Rheaves) and guest speaker, Dominique Johnson — a writing alumnus.
Caitlin Havens, the undergraduate editor for the literary journal, introduced new graduate editors, Lily Avery and Justin Fredericksen.
Rachita Vasandani, fourth-year writing student and The Connector’s copy editor said, “It was really cool doing [the Ivy Hall Review] because it was a way to go beyond classes in regards to my writing.”
Marian Hill, fourth-year photography and writing major said, “I really appreciate the Ivy Hall platform for student writers at SCAD. It provides a way of sharing my work with those who want to engage with the writing program in some way even if they aren’t a writing major. It is a great reminder of the community I have here at Ivy Hall. “
Havens, who in addition to being the undergraduate editor for The Ivy Hall Review is a fourth-year writing student said, “My time with the Review was an eye-opening experience that enriched my SCAD journey.”
The audiences for the Ivy Hall reading consisted of a range of students, writing faculty and other guests invited by the readers.
