The mission statement for the IKEA and Virgil Abloh collaboration was “to create democratic art and design pieces that real and rich people can relate to through a unique collaborative design space made by Virgil Abloh.”
As stated by Swiss curator and design critic, Hans Ulrich Obrist, “the project started with an 80-page book and research, where Virgil goes beyond the fear of pooling knowledge and builds urgent bridges between disciplines and brings new generations to art and design.”

This custom one-of-one piece designed by myself and David del Valls is to commemorate the completion of this two-year venture, which we personally got to witness from its inception, hence the term “Mission Accomplie” which translates to “Mission Accomplished”. This series further showcases the translation of a mere idea into a product that starts a dialogue.
