SCAD FASH Museum of Fashion + Film presents the work of Derrick Adams’ ‘Patrick Kelly, The Journey.’ through Sunday, July 19.
This exhibition stems out of Adams’ exploration of Patrick Kelly, the influential African-American fashion designer, who was the first American to be admitted to the Chambre Syndicale du prêt-à-porter, the French ready-to-wear governing body.
Amanda Glover, a third-year writing student said, ” The art pieces were really vibrant and inviting. I enjoyed this exhibition.”
Kaitlyn Hubbard, a third-year film and television student said, “There’s something so unique about this exhibition. Really inspirational work.”
Adams is a Brooklyn-based multidisciplinary artist who works with the fine arts and performance art among other mediums. His artistic philosophies mimic the ones of the Deconstructionists, where people and ideas can be boiled down to objects, colors, textures and symbols.
