Visit Rhett Scott’s thesis exhibition: ‘Making it up as I go’
The thesis exhibition, “Making it up as I go,” by Rhett Scott (M.F.A. Painting, B.F.A. painting, 2013) is currently on view now through Thursday, Feb. 20. at the Trois Gallery, located in the ACA Library.
The inspiration for his work is drawn from video games and computer graphics of the 1980’s and 90’s. The collection investigates the indistinguishable line between real-life and simulation in the digital age, as Scott uses various painting applications to successfully give the viewers an experience that challenges the eye as he creates an illusory environment.
In addition to his thesis exhibition being on view, he will also host an artist talk and reception for the exhibition, also held at the Trois Gallery. This event will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 19, from 2-3 p.m.
Alex Hartinger, a second-year advertising student, stated that she “saw some of his work on the fourth floor and had to stop and look. [His work has] such a cool point of view.”
Scott’s exhibition will be presented at SCAD’s deFINE ART 2020 event held from Feb. 18 to Feb 20 at both the Atlanta and Savannah campuses.
Both the exhibition and reception are free and open to the public.
Gallery hours: Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
