Makeup brand Glossier opened its latest popup shop at Ponce City Market on February 19 and will be on view until April 26.
Glossier was born in 2014 from Into the Gloss, a website where people shared the beauty products they loved and a place in which inspiration was gained.
There was a long line outside of the shop, customers had the chance to enter as long as some would leave. The approximate wait time was 15 to 20 minutes, and the line just kept getting longer.
Second-year fashion student Mackenzie Biele said, “The new Glossier popup was everything I wanted and more. I’ve always been a huge Glossier fan so when I heard one was opening in Atlanta, I had to be one of the first through the doors. I ended up buying three items, a cherry balm dot calm which is my favorite product and I sadly ran over it with my car recently, the clear lip gloss and the new future dew oil serum after telling everyone I would only buy one item.”
The store is covered in pink decor where customers can take pictures and lounge while they shop. It also has fun displays where shoppers have the chance to interact with every product and try it on.
Fourth-year fashion marketing and management student Rae Yazge, who works at the popup shop said, “The popup shop is a really cool experience for a lot of reasons! All the employees are just as excited as the customers and it’s such a fun place to be. Between that and the very Atlanta but Glossier store design, it’s been amazing to be a part of!”
Overheard inside the shop and outside during the line, was customers talking how they wish it became a permanent store and how they want the popup shop to run for longer time.
