With the closing down of public gatherings and the recommended restriction of social distancing, there are a finite number of ways that one can do to keep busy or entertain themselves during this pandemic. With this unforeseen circumstance coinciding with Spring break, the emotions of frustration, anger and disappointment are playing to people’s reactions. Here are a few ways to stay productive and busy.
- Work on your stuff
With an abundance of time now on your hands, you can definitely not procrastinate and focus your energy on completing those big projects and time-consuming portfolio pieces that you couldn’t work on. Taking this excessive time with a grain of salt, focus your energy on crafting those important pieces.
- Exercise
This type of geographical restriction comes with its own sort of baggage, and with a goal for about 50% of people to exercise more there does seem to have a sort of universal sign to not do exactly that. Dust yourself up and take some creativity into account to try different home workouts or even yoga to keep yourself fit, you can find these routines from YouTube and other fitness apps that are available online.
- Learn something new
My aunt who’s stuck in the Bay Area’s lockdown called me up the other day to tell me about ‘Duolingo,’ an app that helps people learn new languages, and how she’s trying to learn Spanish during this crisis. This perhaps does feel like a good time to take a break from your busy life and learn something new and creative which could help your employability and portfolio.
- Well, You Can Do it all
Usually, people that are stuck in their hectic schedules don’t find time to take some time out for themselves. With this pandemic’s forced quarantine, there’s definitely a little more time for people to do what needs to be done, even if they’re working from home. Finish that load of laundry, assemble that Ikea furniture or even organize that sock drawer that you’ve wanted to. But there also needs to be a way that you can take advantage of this time and work on your own betterment such as sleeping for at least eight hours and try eating healthier.
