One of the best seasons to visit the Atlanta Botanical Garden is right now. Because right now, it’s less about the flowers and all about the creative exhibitions.
The Garden first opens up with a display of many themed scarecrows representing businesses or foundations.
You can find my favorite ones below, these were scattered throughout the whole garden and there were hundreds of them.
Some of the best are the Star Wars themed scarecrows, especially Yoda and RD-2D. The most interesting part is how, at first, I didn’t notice their heads were pumpkins—they are perfectly blended in and painted.
One other favorite among visitors were the Yayoi Kusama-themed exhibition, which blended in perfectly with the pumpkins and the polka dots. The classic carved pumpkin turned into a creepy character with a dress.
These scarecrows were inserted along the trails of nature, and some were placed on the sidewalks with vases of flowers surrounding them.
But the main reason of the visit to the botanical gardens was its famous Alice in Wonderland exhibition, which is going to be taken down soon.
A visitor said, “Alice in Wonderland is one of my favorite movies, it transports you to another world. Looking a this exhibition is amazing, I feel like the figures are about to come to life!”
This featured huge installations with both flowers and material constructions to recreate some of the main characters of the movie. Sadly, this majestic exhibition is ending soon since the Garden’s annual Garden Lights, Holiday Lights comes back on Nov 14.
