Britain has done it again. Another great artist is getting closer to finding her place on the world stage, and her name is Celeste. Celeste is a British neo-soul singer-songwriter who has a beautiful voice and presence.
Celeste’s name started gathering buzz when she won the Brit Award for Rising Star last year.
Although the artist has been making music since her youth, she only began releasing her work on SoundCloud in 2014. Despite a near decade-long run, Celeste has yet to rel her debut album. Instead, she has been giving fans many singles and a few EPs. Throughout all this, one thing has always remained the same: she has yet to release a bad song.
Her latest single, released on Dec. 31, 2020, “Love is Back,” is uplifting — and dare I say — groovy. When listening, you can’t help but imagine yourself dancing at a posh jazz club in upstate New York. If Amy Winehouse and Alicia Keys had a lovechild, Celeste would be it. If that doesn’t make you want to check her out, I don’t know what will.
During 2020, Celeste never left her fans without new music. Most notably, one of her many tracks from last year, “Hear My Voice,” was featured on “The Trail of the Chicago 7,” a Netflix original film.
So yes, 2020 was a wonderful year for Celeste; 2021 might even be a little brighter.
Celeste’s first full-length album is set to release Feb. 24. Put the date on your calendar — you won’t want to miss this one.
