Would you buy clothes directly from your favorite influencer’s closet? 2021 might be the year this concept grows, since second-hand shopping is more popular now than ever.

What is so special about an influencer’s wardrobe is that it’s constantly being filled with new stuff, with current trending items and those that start setting the trend. Eventually, these items will have to go, and a more ethical way an influencer can get rid of them is by selling them to the public.

In Puerto Rico, The Peek and Pick was launched in Nov. 2020. This website gathers various items to be sold from 11 bloggers and top model’s from the island.

Currently, the website ran out of items to sell which I think is one of the biggest concerns for a concept like this one. Since the platform will eventually be sold out of all items because the influencer won’t have anymore to sell, they will be open again for business this summer.

The Peek and Pick mainly features fast fashion items that were gently used, in the website they showed a picture of the influencer styling it. Their prices are reasonable and went from $18 to approximately $50.

Since the island of Puerto Rico is very small and everyone seems to know each other, can a concept like this one become popular in the United States or European countries?

Some fashion bloggers and models are already selling their clothes individually on different platforms, but I feel it would be better if they were all grouped and promoted together. If anything, it would make a bigger, better, more concentrated business.
