There are only two exciting events that take place every four years at the president-elect and vice-president-elect’s inauguration.
Of course, I have to mention that official moment where the previous guy leaves office and such chapter is closed. But even more memorable for the public, all those inspiring stories behind each outfit and designer worn by the main guests.
Put it how you want it, it’s all about the outfits and nothing else! This is your typical fashion review, sorry, I just couldn’t resist to notice how there were big and new designer names among the roster.
And you know it’s going to be a great four years when you hear the names Prada, Jordan 1 Mid Sisterhood, Christopher John Rogers and MiuMiu.
“Best for last” doesn’t exist here, “best for right now” does. President Joe Biden’s granddaughter wore a pair of Jordan 1 Mid Sisterhood with a suit. That is iconic if you ask me. And MiuMiu? Kamala Harris’ stepdaughter, Ella Emhoff, wore a gorgeous coat with embellishments on the side along with a white statement collar.
And the purpose of this article, First Lady Jill Biden, gave the world the words confidence and progress in a Markarian outfit. The color couldn’t have been the perfect fit, it’s one of those designs you can’t stop looking at for how elegant and put together it looks. I immediately wanted to be that woman wearing an all-matching blue ensemble.
But about Markarian, it was founded in 2017 by Alexandra O’Neill and it specializes in V.I.P party dresses that carry fitted but slim silhouettes and statement sleeves. Markarian is not foreign in the fashion industry, her designs have been available in retailers such as Moda Operandi and Bergdorf Goodman.
Now, who wore Prada you might ask? Amanda Gorman, the youngest poet that has ever performed at a presidential inauguration, chose Prada for the day. If you can’t resist fashion, just like me, you automatically knew it was Prada because of the red headband and the shaped logo on the side.
What a statement, red hair accessory along with a yellow coat. It’s like you could feel the vibrancy through your TV or smartphone. What a day!
And lastly, Vice President Kamala Harris went with a Christopher John Rogers look. The color of choice was subtle, but powerful. Didn’t it make you feel secure and safe? A fun fact about Christopher John Rogers: he’s a SCAD Alumni that made his moment once he graduated and won a CFDA competition. Ever since, Rogers has been putting on a show with his bold color choices and silhouettes, appearing in fashion weeks an so on.
Overall, I was genuinely impressed by the fashion choices made today. Fashion just makes everything so much better, doesn’t it? Oh, and JLo’s white outfit too!
