Define gestures through quick poses and learn about the human body in motion and great warm up skill before going into a long pose. This workshop is great for students majoring in fashion, animation and sequential arts. Materials to bring: Newsprint Pad 12X16 or 18X24 or 24X36. Exploring Martin Luther King National Historic Park
Friday, March 26, 1-3 p.m.
Why do we create National Historic places? On this visit to the grounds of the Martin Luther King National Historic Park, you will visit the gravesite of this great civil rights leader, as well as study the relationship between his birth home, the church where he and his father preached, and the neighborhood. Explore the park and pause in different places to observe how the park is set up, how it is used by other visitors and what it feels like to be in this place. Students will be encouraged to take field notes (notes and sketches) of these observations. We would conclude the trip with a conversation about what was learned about the park. Street Art Tour – Edgewood Avenue

Atlanta is already known as the creative hotspot, but now the city has a new claim to fame with having over 1000 murals throughout the city! There are many distinctive works with varying styles and themes. Join Professor Navin Norling for a series of 3 walking tours through the Beltline Trail, Edgewood Ave., and Little Five Points. Each walk will be about one mile making frequent stops at sites. Please wear comfortable shoes and practice social distancing. Click here to register.

Explore Adobe Lightroom and gain the confidence to work with Adobe’s editing software without the complications of Photoshop. Participants will learn to import, edit, and export. Designing the Beasts of Greek Mythology

In this workshop, students will learn how to design their own monsters inspired by Greek mythology. Students will practice using reference images but also written sources to successfully inform the design of their characters, explore shape language by having a clear understanding of a character’s narrative arc, and develop a creature that fits in the world of Greek mythology given the knowledge and information we have about the ancient Greek culture: ethos and pathos.
