As we all know, over a year ago, the world came to a standstill and we all had to migrate back indoors to keep ourselves and our loved ones safe. It is no surprise that during these difficult times, we turned to our favorite books, movies, shows, comics, and games to pass the time and transport us into other worlds and realities as a much needed break from this one. For this reason, I have asked you wonderful artists to submit your fan art to be shown on here and I am honored to be able to kick it off with the spectacular work of Roxy Urquiza Flores.
Roxy is an illustration major at SCAD Atlanta. Their work and killer style is inspired by a love of horror movies and monsters. Their love for the scaries goes way back, with Roxy’s first toy being a xenomorphic monster. This is why it is no surprise they created a beautiful piece to pay tribute to the cult classic: Alien. Created originally for a Ladies of Horror Anthology, this piece shows the main protagonist, Ripley, facing off with the main antagonist, the xenomorph.
If you are as enamored by this piece as I am and want to check out more of Roxy’s work, follow their Instagram page: @cranitys.
