These edgy and cool illustrations were created by the talented fourth-year illustration student, Nicolas Spearman. His work is often inspired by the music he listens to, and this wonderful work is no exception.
Slipknot, the musical group featured here, is one of Spearman’s favorite bands. Slipknot was one of the first bands that Spearman fell in love with as a child. The illustrations were created as a vinyl mockup for a class, and they were inspired by the group’s album, Iowa.
Spearman chose Iowa for the album’s themes of thriving in spite of not belonging — a feeling that has stuck with him to this day. He has always loved purchasing band merchandise and CDs, and now, as an illustrator, he wants to continue creating them.
