Photography is incumbent of a variety of aspects in terms of your camera settings, angles and lighting. In addition to those sections, your photos should illustrate or evoke a certain mood. This can be challenged through negative space, subject focus and even color. Of course, the former two are important, but color is the main aspect that generates the emotion you want your audience to feel aside from the basic package. Crimson evokes a sense of power and or salacity. Blue symbolizes comfort and a cool essence. Yellow, on the other hand, is spontaneous and lively. Here are a few examples of eye-popping colors captured by a SCAD student.
Highlighting specific colors can generate a sense of visual contrast, which creates a focal point for the viewer even without the presence of perspective. This is one photography hack that can take your portfolio to the next level and make a short-deadline project easier to complete.
