3:30 p.m. — Reception for Andreas Kocks: “Momentary Suspension”
Trois Gallery
The SCAD exhibitions department presents “Momentary Suspension,” a solo show featuring a site-specific cut-paper installation as well as watercolors and two-dimensional studies by internationally renowned artist Andreas Kocks. The show exemplifies the frozen moments captured in his acclaimed “paperworks” that suspend dynamically from the gallery walls. The activity of the imagery—like paint splattering off the wall—visually belies the artist’s careful process of siting the piece in architectural space. Free and open to the public.

ACA Gallery of SCAD, Woodruff Arts Center
The In-Between” is an exhibition featuring commissioned installations by artist JuYeon Kim, co-curated by the Savannah College of Art and Design and the National Museum of Women in the Arts. Created during Spring 2010 sculpture and fibers courses held at SCAD Savannah, the exhibition includes two large-scale installations featuring thousands of figurative images presented in an astounding array of poses and circumstances. Inspired by “The Tibetan Book of the Dead,” these ambitious pieces signify the range of human experience, reminding us of the volatility of the physical world and our illusory perceptions of it. Free and open to the public.
