This was captured in 35mm black-and-white film, then scanned digitally to create a triptych — 3 separate images presented side-by-side to create one image or idea. The image represents the density of the street vendor booths in what is considered the downtown Sham Shui Po shopping area, a place where one can cheap electronics — especially lighting! There are over 50 vendors who only sell lights: ambient, florescent and of course, neon. Every time I walk past this block I am instantly taken by the beautiful colors and shapes created by the lights.
