Singer Vehicle Design is an American company, founded by Rob Dickinson in 2009, that rebuilds and restores air-cooled Porsche 911s. Over the winter holiday, Lucas Tam had the opportunity to photograph 1 of 15 Singers in Hong Kong. The photographed restoration was commissioned by a buyer from Hong Kong. The body was a Porsche 964 Targa and all the specifications were personally picked by the owner.

“Our specification and restoration choices reflect our vision of an optimized air-cooled Porsche 911 and provide a broad canvas for individual self-expression and fine tailoring.”  — Singer Vehicle Design

This series of photos is a reflection of Tam’s ambition and interest in being an automotive photographer. The idea of the shoot is to show the beauty of the automobile and the owner’s lifestyle. In this case, the shoot was photographed in a marine country club during sunrise.

The sunlight hitting the neutral gray paint and enchanting the brown leather interior overall created a warm tone for the images. Since the car is completely reimagined and rebuilt, Tam chose to photograph not only the full car but also smaller details, which are still important hence Porsche’s company motto “Everything is Important”
