There is always something new under the sun in the world of beauty. First up this month, we have singer Ariana Grande, who is the newest celebrity to be chosen to collaborate with makeup brand MAC as a MAC Viva Glam spokesperson. The Viva Glam collections were created to bring proceeds to fight HIV and AIDS, with 100% of the profits going to research or victims of the diseases. Celebrities such as RuPaul, Christina Aguilera, Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj and recently Miley Cyrus have been a spokesperson for the 2015 campaign. Now that Ariana Grande is the spokesperson for 2016, she’ll join a long line of legends for the esteemed brand.
The two products in the collection consist of a dark purple lipstick and a shimmery pink lip gloss, both used to represent the bad and good girl respectively. Grande announced the collaboration on Instagram saying, “#VIVAGLAM @maccosmetics I am beyond honored and excited to be working with a brand that stands for and always has stood for EQUALITY. My lipstick & gloss will be available in January and EVERY PENNY goes to people affected by HIV & AIDS. I have loved & supported @maccosmetics ever since I was a little girl walking through the mall and saw your first #VIVAGLAM girl in the window @rupaulofficial. I’m so honored!!!” Although it will be too late to buy for Christmas, as the line launches in January, we can cross our fingers that we can exchange some unwanted gifts for this coveted line.
Next up, the creator of the Korean beauty site “Soko Glam,” Charlotte Cho, has released a book on the world of Korean beauty. This beauty book, “The Little Book of Skincare,” is full of gems on how to maintain beautiful skin tried-and-true Korean beauty techniques and products. It is a perfect addition to the site that is responsible for bringing the 10-step Korean beauty craze and its products to the states.
Unlike the Ariana Grande and MAC collection, which won’t be available until next year, “The Little Book of Skincare” came out Nov. 10 and is available for sale now.
