What happens when a speaker company and jewelry brand join forces? One of the most stylish pieces of wearable tech yet comes to fruition. Jewelry e-commerce site Bauble Bar and leader in wireless technology, Jawbone, have come together to create a six-piece collection of fitness tracker bracelets that don’t compromise on style. From sparkly, studded metallic faces to sturdy leather straps, the Bauble Bar bracelets create a stylish haven for the Jawbone technology to rest in. The bracelets come in three different styles, Salsa, Tango and Disco, as well as two different colors per style. The collaborative bracelet collection was definitely designed in mind for the person that wants a little more fashion in their fitness routine.
The bracelets themselves are just a home for Jawbone’s “Up Move” tracker, which tracks fitness activities such as steps, calories and sleep. Then it sends the information to its “Smart Coach” companion app for analysis and tips for fitness as well as health and wellness.
When asked about the combination of fashion and tech, writing major Arisha Husain said, “I think the concept is great. Tech should be aesthetically pleasing. Nobody wants to buy something chunky and ugly, unless that’s your taste and you only care about functionality. I strive to have both in my purchases. Although, I can’t help but think about the high prices and as a college student, as a SCAD student, I don’t think about it often because stuff like that is out of the picture for now.” Fashion marketing student Kiki McCalla also chimed in saying, “I love advancements in tech but I don’t really care for wearable tech. I mean my phone is great. It does everything I need. I don’t want my ring, bracelet, earrings, and watch all vibrating out of nowhere because I got a text. Now I’d buy the pieces because some of them are seriously cute but I wouldn’t use them for their intended purpose. Which kinda defeats the whole point, you know?”
If fashion-forward fitness is your game then the Bauble Bar bracelets for Jawbone’s “Up Move” trackers are up your alley and now available for purchase on Bauble Bar’s website, although some styles already have a waitlist.
