More than 25 students attended the last Coffeehouse Collection of the quarter in the Hub March 1. Presented by SCAD Atlanta Radio, the event featured members of the SCAD Atlanta Musician’s Club including Gio Turra, a branded entertainment student and the club’s president.

Turra, who got his start in music at a young age performing in church with his mother, said that he used to feel nervous about performing, but now he’s more concerned with the audience.

“The one thing I do get nervous about is if people are going to come to see it,” said Turra. “But I try and do something different every time I perform.”

The evening also featured performances from students Walter Cuadrado, Emily Rodriguez and Kira Knoop.

Sequoyah Wildwyn-Dechter, a first-year photography student and club member, said that he highly enjoyed seeing different students perform.

“I’m always really impressed with the talent that SCAD students have,” said Wildwyn-Dechter, who also credited Turra for his work with the SCAD Atlanta Musician’s Club. “The club he has put together is amazing and full of talent, and I’m proud to be a part of it.”

SCAD Atlanta Musician’s Club encourages students to pursue musical interests outside of their programs of study. The club also offers regular performances featuring students throughout the quarter.
