SCAD FASH, and more than 60 museums and cultural centers in Georgia, open free on Sunday, Feb. 11 for the Georgia History Festival’s Super Museum Sunday. Georgians and visitors alike can experience the state’s rich history and cultural life as historic sites, house museums, art museums and other points of interest in Atlanta and throughout Georgia open their doors to the public, providing an exceptional opportunity to experience the history in our own backyard. Ivy Hall Writers Series welcomes Zadie Smith and Jamie Quatro
Renowned author Zadie Smith will read from her new book “Feel Free: Essays” at SCADshow on Monday, Feb. 12 at 7 p.m. After the reading, Smith will be joined in conversation by television journalist Gail O’Neill and will sign books. This event is part of the SCAD Ivy Hall Writers Series and is sponsored by A Cappella Books. Tickets are free for SCAD Card holders and $30 for the general public. Reserve yours on Eventbrite.
Novelist Jamie Quatro will read from her debut novel “Fire Sermon” on Tuesday, Feb. 13 at 8 p.m. in Ivy Hall. Quatro’s collection of short stories published in 2013 was a New York Times Notable Book and NPR Best Book of 2013. A Q-and-A session and book signing will follow the reading. This event is free and open to the public.
