This Thursday, Oct. 18 at 8 p.m., the SCAD Atlanta Film Club will be hosting a back-to-back film showings of the classic horror films “Halloween,” “Nightmare on Elm Street” and “Scream” at the Digitial Media Center (DMC) Theater. Each proves to be staples of October film favorites as the season of spooks continues.
“Halloween,” (1978) is a thriller about a young escaped murderer who seeks out his next victim on Halloween night. Put in jail for 15 years after being charged for the murder of his older sister, he takes a car and runs out into the city. It stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Donald Pleasence and Nick Castle.
“Nightmare on Elm Street,” (1984) is the Freddy Kruger classic. In this film, Kruger haunts teens in their dreams and in their realities. It stars Robert Englund, Heather Langenkamp and Johnny Depp.
“Scream,” (1996) is the film parody of the slasher genre directed by Wes Craven. While this is a parody, it proves to be frightful at times as well as cleverly made. It stars Matthew Lillard, Skeet Ulrich and Rose McGowan.
This event is first come first serve. No tickets or reservations are not necessary.
