SCADFILM presents Alexandre Philippe and ‘Memory: The Origins of Alien’ at SCADshow
Known for pulling back the curtain on the scariest moments in film, award-winning filmmaker Alexandre Philippe explores the history of horror, the importance of the genre, and why monsters make excellent metaphors. This visceral, one-hour presentation, on Wednesday, Jan. 8 at 5:30 p.m., will be followed by a screening of Philippe’s latest documentary “Memory: The Origins of Alien” at 7 p.m. This event is free for SCAD Card holders and $15 for the general public. Experience the splendor of the Italian Renaissance with professor Sarah Cadagin
Join SCAD FASH and Italian Renaissance scholar Sarah Mellott Cadagin for her talk “Moda Alla Medici: Fashioning the Self in Renaissance Florence,” on Thursday, Jan. 9 at noon at SCAD FASH. Set against the backdrop of the SCAD FASH exhibition “Fashioning Art from Paper“, which features meticulously re-created Medici family finery by Belgian artist Isabelle de Borchgrave, Cadagin contextualizes the family’s elaborate dress within the wider visual and material culture of the Italian Renaissance.
