The Museum of Design Atlanta (MODA) has announced their upcoming exhibition, “Learning from Nature: the Future of Design”. It will be on view from March 1 to May 23, showing how designers are creating solutions for human challenges through the use of sustainable practices in their art.

This exhibition is the first one to be displayed as part of MODA’s 2020: The Year of Climate and Change, the museum’s initiative to face climate issues and demonstrate how design can play a major role in reducing the impact of climate change globally. This initiative is year-long and is filled with hands-on activities, active learning and exhibition tours.

At this event, visitors will be learning a lot about the different ways to solve complex human problems, understand and engage with global climate challenges and explore creative design solutions.

In addition to this, there will be on-going research featured at the exhibition from designers, professionals and students. There will also be design workshops for the visitors to attend as well as drawing classes from nature offered by a Georgia Tech professor, Lane Duncan. MODA plans on getting quite involved with the local community, partnering with the Atlanta School of Photography and providing nature-related badges for girls scouts.

MODA is located at 1315 Peachtree St., Atlanta, GA, and is open from noon – 6 p.m. from Tuesday to Sunday and are open from noon – 8 p.m. on Thursday. They are closed on Monday.
