SCAD Hong Kong to discontinue instruction after spring 2020
SCAD has made the decision to discontinue instruction at its Hong Kong location once the upcoming spring quarter concludes. This decision was made after quite a bit of careful consideration around student safety and academic quality above all else.
They have ensured the completion of all SCAD Hong Kong students’ degrees, where they have the option of transferring to SCAD Atlanta, SCAD Savannah or SCAD eLearning.
This decision has come as a surprise to many SCAD students throughout the different locations. While students have expressed their disappointment, SCAD does believe it is in the best interest of all who are a part of the international SCAD community.
As SCAD Hong Kong is formally closing, and other campuses are temporarily closed due to the spreading coronavirus disease (COVID-19), SCAD has stated that it “remains more committed than ever to preparing talented students for creative careers.” They believe that its students “are the next generation of groundbreaking designers, storytellers, filmmakers, inventors, entrepreneurs, makers and dreamers.”
Lastly, SCAD thanks its students and their families for their patience during these “evolving times.”
